At sedeus.com, we place utmost importance on the security of your personal data. Your personal data is processed and stored in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”)

1.How Your Personal Data Can Be Processed

In accordance with Law No. 6698, your personal data shared with sedeus.com can be processed, wholly or partially, automatically or non-automatically as part of any data recording system, by being obtained, recorded, stored, modified, reorganized, in short, subjected to all kinds of operations performed on data. Any operation performed on data within the scope of KVKK is considered as “processing of personal data.”

2. Purposes and Legal Reasons for Processing Your Personal Data

Your shared personal data will be processed in compliance with Law No. 6698 and relevant secondary regulations to:

  • Fulfill the requirements of the services we provide to our customers, in accordance with the requirements of the contract and technology;
  • Provide information to prosecutors, courts, and related public officials in matters related to public safety and legal disputes, upon request and as required by law;
  • Share legally with persons or institutions that can offer or offer various opportunities to our members;
  • Analyze advertising preferences.

3. Disclosure of Third Parties or Organizations to Whom Your Personal Data May Be Transferred

For the purposes mentioned above, the individuals/organizations to which your personal data shared with sedeus.com may be transferred include our main shareholders, our shareholders, advertisers, direct or indirect domestic/foreign affiliates; member companies using sedeus.com infrastructure and persons and organizations related to the service offered, and other third parties and organizations, both domestic and abroad, with whom we cooperate and/or obtain services as Data Processors.

Our regulations regarding cookies used for advertising purposes are in the “sedeus.com Cookie Policy,” which is a part of the “Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy” you are currently reading.

4. The Method of Collecting Your Personal Data

Your personal data is collected:

  • From forms on the sedeus.com website and mobile applications, with information such as name, surname, address, telephone, business or personal email address; preferences on pages accessed using username and password, IP records of transactions performed, data collected by the browser, including cookies, browsing duration and details, location data;
  • For purposes such as establishing a commercial relationship with sedeus.com, applying for a job, making an offer, from persons who share their personal data through business cards, resumes (CVs), making offers, and other means, physically or virtually, face-to-face or remotely, orally or in writing, or electronically;
  • Additionally, indirectly obtained data from different channels, data obtained from websites, blogs, contests, surveys, games, campaigns, and similar purposes (micro) websites, and social media, reading or clicking actions of e-newsletters, data provided by public databases, open profile and data from social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.), can be processed and collected.

5. Your Personal Data Obtained Before the Enforcement of KVKK

sedeus.com, which did not start publication before the effective date of KVKK, April 7, 2016, does not have any personal data stored before this date.

6. Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your personal data collected by any of the methods listed above, processed in Turkey, or processed and stored abroad, can be transferred to service agents abroad (countries accredited by the Personal Data Protection Board and having adequate protection for personal data) in line with KVKK and in accordance with the purposes of the contract.

Your Personal Data may be transferred in necessary cases to:

  • Our business partners with whom we cooperate and/or obtain services for the presentation and promotion of products and services,
  • Authorized authorities capable of determining your location in case of an emergency call,
  • Other public institutions and organizations authorized to request your personal data, such as regulatory and supervisory institutions, courts, and execution directorates,
  • Legal entities that have a commercial relationship with sedeus.com and have your phone number.

7. Storage and Protection of Personal Data

sedeus.com is obligated to protect the systems and databases where your personal data is stored by taking software measures such as hashing, encryption, transaction logging, access management, and physical security measures to prevent the unlawful processing of personal data and to prevent unauthorized access, as per Article 12 of KVKK. If it is learned that personal data has been obtained by others through illegal means, the situation will be immediately reported to the Personal Data Protection Board in a legal and written manner.

8. Keeping Personal Data Accurate and Up-to-Date

In accordance with Article 4 of KVKK, sedeus.com has an obligation to keep your personal data accurate and up-to-date. In this context, our members must share their accurate and current data or update it through the website/mobile application for sedeus.com to fulfill its obligations arising from the current legislation.

9. Rights of the Personal Data Owner According to Law No. 6698 KVKK

Article 11 of Law No. 6698 KVKK came into effect on October 7, 2016, and according to this article, the rights of the Personal Data Owner since that date are as follows:

  • Learn whether their personal data has been processed,
  • Request information if their personal data has been processed,
  • Learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used appropriately for their purpose,
  • Know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad,
  • Request correction of personal data if it has been processed incompletely or incorrectly,
  • Request deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions set out in Article 7 of KVKK,
  • Request notification of the operations carried out in accordance with the above requests to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
  • Object to the emergence of a result against the person himself/herself through the analysis of processed data exclusively through automated systems,
  • Request compensation for the damage in case of loss due to unlawful processing of personal data.

10. Communication and Application Method

The Data Controller Representative appointed by sedeus.com will be announced on the Data Controllers Registry and the internet address where this document is located when the legal infrastructure is provided.

Personal Data Owners can direct their questions, opinions, or requests to the email address [email protected].

sedeus.com can respond to the requests sent to it, positively/negatively, in writing or digitally, provided that it is justified and within 30 days. The procedures related to requests are essentially free of charge. However, if the procedures require a cost, sedeus.com reserves the right to request a fee. These fees will be determined according to the tariff set by the Personal Data Protection Board in accordance with Article 13 of the Personal Data Protection Law.

By sharing your personal data on our web page, our applications, and other channels, you declare your acceptance with explicit consent as defined in KVKK as a specific, informed, and freely expressed consent related to a certain subject, without using your legal rights before applying to sedeus.com, that you accept the terms about processing, processing methods, transfer, sale of data, and other related matters in our Personal Data Policy, and that the data shared with the social media application sedeus.com can be used on the web page, in applications and social media channels, notifications, and suggestions can be made, it can be shared with third parties commercially for the benefit of the members, and that you accept this.
